London's Barnets walks Abouts us area
Welcome to Barnet walks website. My name is Chris & have lived in the Mill Hill area of Barnet for the past 50 plus years. The aim of this site is to give visitors to the Barnet area a little information on the many great walks there are in the area of London’s borough of Barnet & its surrounding county side. I personally have been semi retired for the last few years & looking to get a little fitter, so with a combination of my website building hobby & a newbie to walking, this site is being put together with the information gathered about the walks that i have done.
The aim is to walk all of Barnet’s parks, footpaths, open spaces, nature reserves & wooded areas. Then to put together some interesting combinations of the walks around Barnet & adjoining areas with the aim of giving you lots of unbiased information on the degree of difficulty or ease of walks with photos & some brief history of the areas that the walks will go through.
This will hopefully will also help & encourage other 1st time walkers to have a go. I have also taken into account that many (like me) are new to walking, & have included some cheats (Sorry! Tips) by grading all walks to my abilities (not very fit) to help anyone new to walking. There will be plenty of walks for the hardier ones out there that like the terrain a little tougher & more rural.
It would also be nice to have this site evolve as a comunity that would have many locals helping with things

like good local walks, photos & history about Barnet. So for now, i have included a comments area for each walk & if enough interest is generated i will put a forum on the site so every one can have chats about what’s happening locally in there own areas.
We would more than welcome any ideas & suggestions on things you would like to see on the site with any improvements on how the site is at the moment & what can be done to improve things.
